First and foremost, Footy had to use my computer to download shots of the new baby to send to family and friends which I was then able to steal (It's not really stealing when it's on my hard drive) photos of baby and baby and mom.

Man...what happened?

This Lady looks nice.

I'm sure that's what she's thinking. Thankfully, she cannot yet speak for herself.

Also, for those of you who felt cheated at only seeing one finished corner of the bathroom, I added more photos. So STOP YOUR WHINING!

The end.

Tona is such a little cutie. I am always amazed that babies are so small. KG gave me a bubblegum cigar and I chewed the entire thing. I blew a bubble and it went all over my face. Sometimes grownup does not equal smart.

Tonight I'm hosting a Mary Kay in the 70's party. I'm not a fan of parties that sell stuff and I had a pretty bad experience with a Pampered Chef party in college (Footy, do you remember when she said "Men don't come to these things!" when you asked her about the knives Pampered Chef sold?), but I think this party will be fun. I know Erin pretty well, so I know she won't be a dodgy saleswoman and we get to put on fun makeup, do our hair, drink fun mixed beverages, dress up and listen to disco.

I wish it were already 4 p.m. and I were getting ready for my party.

Finally. What you have all been waiting for... BATHROOM RENOVATION PICTURES . You will notice no pictures of us cutting tiles because 1. It was very hard work which led to the most cursing I've ever done on Christmas Eve day and 2. I forgot to take any pictures.

AND...KG and Footy have a healthy girl born at 12:50 yesterday morning. I was so excited I forgot to write down the name and check the spelling, but I think her name is Tana Moon. Footy will have to correct me if I'm wrong. Yay Babies!

Tuesday, January 27

I was dreading doing all the research into a presidential candidate, but then I heard about MPR's select a candidate. It appears I'm voting for Howard Dean. Too bad they only have the major candidates and no place to enter my own answers. I thought it would be interesting to see who I would elect if I were white honky trash.

KG and Footy have been incommunicado since Sunday. Thanks to Erin I discovered they are checked into the birthing unit at the hospital. So either they are having a very long checkup, or they are having a baby. I'm so excited I can hardly stand it!

Friday, January 23

Janklow kills someone and basically gets 90 days in jail. What?! I just don't get it.

On to happier news.... Is anyone as excited as me to go to the Ice Palace ?

Wednesday, January 21

Last night I went to an informational meeting on training your dog to be a therapy dog . It was very cool, but they stress that the dogs can't lick or bark - things Lily does with gusto. But, I may try it anyway - I just need to work with her a bit more so she doesn't completely humiliate me.

I got my harmonica yesterday. I can't wait to start learning how to play.

Did anyone hear Howard Dean's yell after he lost Iowa? Jeez, that creeped me out. I think he may be looney.

There is nothing so wonderful as a three-day weekend. It helps that I work for a bank. I'm not sure I could ever go back to a job where I didn't get all the random bank holidays. It's like getting an extra week of vacation. Here is my weekend:

Friday, went over to Meg and Bob's house where we drank wine and played (as much as we could with a sick baby) with Faith until she went to bed.

Saturday, went over to Danielle's house to help her make a futon cover. Discovered that Wyndom Cafe is closed and had to run to Urban Harvest to get the essential morning coffee. Went and picked up Becka on our way to Urban Harvest for lunch. Left Danielle's about 2 and mom and I went to see Calendar Girls (such a great movie!). Went to a fondue party at my friend, Sarah's house in the evening. Plopped into bed around 1:30.

Sunday, organized the closet under the stairs and got rid of two more boxes. This was essential because that closet was becoming a monster. Went to knitting at 2 and then went to dinner at Highland Grill and Big Fish with Becka and Danielle. I was trying to get my movie fix in for the weekend.

Monday, cleaned like crazy and finished sewing the radiator cover and toilet cover thingy for the bathroom. Took the final pictures and packaged the film to send off this morning. Rescued dog from her tie-out outside. It was caught on a frozen poop. Laughed and laughed about frozen poop restraining dog. Determined to put it in blog today.

Tuesday (so far), had difficulty getting out of bed because was lazy all weekend about getting up, typed blog and had to deflect licking dog so wouldn't mis-spell too much. Tempted to go back to bed.

Friday, January 16

Awwww....
We finished the window treatments in the baby's room at KG's house so now the baby can definitely be born. Come on baby! It's a lot more fun outside the womb than inside even if it is really cold. Hopefully as I write this Footy is gazing at the finished living room - when KG and I were sewing the window treatment, Footy was putting the fourth coat of paint on the walls in the living room. Isn't home ownership great?

Last night I went to a happy hour at the Dakota downtown (Happy Birthday Ole!) and then had dinner with Jodi at this great Mexican restaurant right by my house. I hate to admit I'm not overly familiar with the restaurants right by my house, but now I realize I need to make more of an effort to check them out.

Today is Friday! I wish it were already 4:30.

Wednesday, January 14

Wednesday recycling day. And I remembered to put out the recycling last night. I rule.

Tuesday, January 13

I fought the medicine cabinet and I won! It only took about 5 hours and three trips to the hardware store, but the %&@! thing is up and looks great! Now I just have to sew the shower curtain and radiator cover and the bathroom is done! Who would have thought I would ever finish. I certainly was beginning to wonder.

KG and I also made the shower curtain and window curtain for her new house on Friday. Tonight we're starting on Roman shades for the baby room (if she isn't in labor with the baby, that is).

Monday, January 12

Just a few photos from New Years when Janine was visiting. As you can see, we scored some pretty sweet celebration gear at the Wabasha Street Caves to ring in the new year properly. The other picture is at the Mill City Museum. Who would have thought flour would be so interesting?

Friday, January 9

Yay! My links work! Erin kindly came over last night and continued the education of dreamweaver that Janine started when she was visiting.

Yesterday was interesting. I stored all my files for report outputs on my personal drive (yes, I recognize this is stupid. What happens if I get hit by a bus? It would be far more annoying for my coworkers to get to my files.) and yesterday was unable to access it until 3pm. Of course I was trying to get a file out by the end of the day yesterday. So I worked on some enhancements instead and when I finally could access my files, stayed until about 6:30 working on them. Another great day at the office.

Wednesday, January 7

I haven't blogged for a couple of days because the site is blocked from work now. It used to be I would get in to work, read my emails, blog, but now that is over. Now I get to fight off Lily licking my fingers (which she is currently doing) to write the daily blog.

It isn't horribly sad that I haven't written the past few days. I was pretty burnt out from all the holidays and bathroom renovation, so pretty much stayed indoors as much as possible. I picked Chris and Leon up from the airport on Sunday and then ran a few errands which helped me realize that I should not have attempted to be among the crazed public, but should have remained on my couch under the afghan, reading.

Monday was hard. I had to get back in the swing of things at work and I couldn't remember what I had even been working on. Thankfully I had made a list of "to do's" before I left. Unfortunately, I had forgotten that I made it, so it was around 11 am that I actually found it.

All week I have been trying to get back into work and the first accomplishment is getting in by 8:30 instead of 9 (today I may try to get in by 8). I set my alarm for 6:15 Sunday night and today moved it back 1/2 hour. Maybe by Friday I will be getting up at my normal time of 5:30. I miss getting up at 7, or better yet, 8.

At least today is Wednesday. That means there are only three working days left until Saturday. Tonight I'm going to pick up a microwave from my friend, Becca. I had resisted getting a microwave for ages, but now I'm finding that it would be nice to have one dish when I make something simple like a burrito instead of 3. Now I just have to figure out where I'm going to put it.

That is it in the life of Lori. Aren't you glad I didn't post everyday?

Monday, January 5

I missed an entire week of blogging? It's because it flew by and I have barely been on the computer.

The bathroom is pretty much done. Just a few touch ups here and there and an argument with a medicine cabinet that will not go up. I am hoping to win the argument with the medicine chest, sew a shower curtain and get the pictures developed so everyone can see how long of a process it was.

I'm pretty fried from the holidays and bathroom renovation, so I took it pretty easy this weekend. Trying to just hang out at home. I slept in until almost 9 on Sunday. Unheard of for me, really unheard of for the dog. I think she's just as pooped. I watched all of my netflix movies so I will finally be able to get new ones. It is a very exciting day... but not a very exciting post. Not that they are ever incredibly exciting....
