Lily can destroy dog toys too!

She just destroyed her third dog toy ever. She's not like other dogs - destroying toys in an afternoon. I think she gets bored and will play with it long enough to get slimy but not long enough to kill it. But when she can kill a toy it's like she has cracked a secret code. Her joy is absolute and she leaves the stuffing and destroyed squeaker all over the floor as a prize of some sort. I'm certain she is disturbed when I pick it all up and throw it away. She recently took the filling out of her hot dog toy and completely deflated it. She still loved it, it was just a lot flatter. This morning she ripped the fabric from the plastic hotdog part and was again proud of her amazing achievement. The only other toys she's destroyed are when she was a puppy she removed the squeaker from a stuffed bone and she took apart a dollar store stuffed animal. Her destruction of my slipper doesn't count. Not really. She didn't get a chance to be satisfied about that because I had to punish her for it. She hasn't destroyed a slipper since, so it must have worked. Or mostly worked because she still likes to untie the leather ties on every other pair of slippers since in her bid to make me kill myself. I wish she would realize that the little kids who feed her all the time won't just show up at my house if she makes me kill myself by falling over and that I am the one who pays her vet bills and keeps her in the life to which she has become accustomed. Selfish dog.
