Why is it
That just when I'm feeling really good about the work I'm doing an old project comes back and I realize it could have been better. At the time there were major things to fix and I was really pressed for time, but man I wish I would have been much, much smarter about this piece of the project. I hope I can still fix it.

heh...welcome to life as we know it. I have never been completely satisfied with a project--and as time passes, I get more and more dissatisfied. I realize I could have done this or that better, or that I could have added a feature that would have made things better.
And the worst is as you describe. A project comes back to haunt me. As I look it over with a more experienced eye, I never fail to shudder at how horrific my earlier efforts are. But look at it this way...now you have a chance to do things right...;)
