Lily, My Gimpy Dog

I came home for lunch after a morning meeting to check on the pooch and figure out her soreness after getting all her shots and found her laying in her kennel. When I called to her, she just stared at me and refused to get up and out. So I bribed her with food. I thought getting her moving might help a little bit and this non playful Lily was somewhat alarming. I threw bits of food all over the house so she would have to go get them which she did far slower than she has before. Then I thought I would take her for a walk. She loves walks and peeing every 12.5 inches and checking out every tree. Regardless of how I urged her on and made overly excited comments about what a good girl she was, her movements were slow and she rested pretty often. I finally called the vet to make sure she would be ok and they recommended giving her half an aspirin which I did and then let her roam outside of the kitchen in the hopes that she would bark at people walking by and not just sit and get more sore. By the time I got home she was more chipper which was a relief. The next morning she was still a little sore, but by last night she was back to her old self - including the barking at everything I do. I guess when I had food poisoning and laid on the couch all day she tried to get me up and around by ringing the bell. Man, I hated that. And then I turned around and did it to her except for much farther distances. I am such a kind and gracious dog owner.
