A Great Send Off for a Great Woman

Yesterday was Vivian's funeral in Mankato. Told the weather would be really crummy, mom and I left with enough time to drive somewhat slowly, but not enough time to spiral into the ditch. The weather held up and we made it to Mankato with no incident early enough to chat with family members before the funeral. The church her funeral was in was the church that in 1938 hosted Joe and Viv's marriage. There was a great selection of photos from her life and a really great book Viv herself made with commentary on construction paper. The service was nice and visiting with my family was really great. I love that clan. They are so affectionate and nice and even a funeral cannot damper the joy they spread. Mom and I were going to go to Blue Earth on the 25th to celebrate Viv's 91st birthday with her, and we've decided to go anyway to celebrate her life and visit with all my wonderful family members. I can't wait.
