My Birthday Was So Last Friday

and what a celebration it was. I was determined to chat with everyone there, but I didn't quite make it and I don't feel like I got to chat long enough with anyone. Man I love my friends and if they could be incredibly boring that would have made it much easier. I was the least interesting person there because of course, I was drunk and yes, I did tell everyone that I was drunk over and over. I also did not dance as much as I thought I would (that is, all night), but I did dance some and I am certain there are embarrassing photographs of it. The food was awesome (Thanks Wendy and Jenn!) and I got some great gifts including monies to buy a serger (Beth! I don't know what you were talking about when you said you could not coordinate things because that coordination kicked butt). Oh yes, you've read correctly. A serger. That's a lot of monies. Now I am obsessively researching sergers sometimes even at work. I can't wait to go and check them out and figure out what I'm going to buy. I hadn't even looked at sergers for years because they used to be so expensive. In fact, I used to say that one day when I get engaged I would get a serger instead of a ring because I want that a whole lot more. I can't believe I got it by the time I was 30. I am still totally in shock and am wandering around in a dream like state where I whisper "serger" occasionally. I think I was even a little too shocked to really react when I opened the gift. Well, that and I was very drunk at the time and one of the guests at the beginning of the party handed Beth money and said "Here is the money for Lori's gift." Smooth. Even I am not that smooth.

It was a seriously kick ass evening with great friends to celebrate 30 years and now I can lay low for 10 years until I turn 40. Then another blow out party must be had. It will be so awesome!

congratulations both on the serger, and for having such wonderful friends. I think the quality of a persons friends directly relates to the person themselves. So kudos!...

And have you started thinking about what you want for your 40th?...
