Movin Out!
I'm not moving out myself, merely referring to the Billy Joel, Twyla Tharp musical I attended last week. It was...interesting. The first half less so than the second. I'm not really used to zero dialogue in a show. The songs were supposed to tell the story, but they didn't quite get me thier. I had to refer to the program to understand what the heck was going on. My favorite part of the whole evening? Hanging out with Shauna and Sarah J. We had a great dinner at Zelo's (I mean, how could Zelo's ever be bad?). I can't express how funny I find these two ladies and it was so fun to hang out with them. Also we got a lot of exercise at the show because of super late people who wanted to sit three together where only two seats were available. It was awesome. Why can't people just be on time for that stuff? I mean, do they realize that they are totally disrupting the show for the general public sitting around them? I really dislike lateness. Especially in the age of cell phones that make it so simple to just call and say you're running late. I have a 15 minute rule. If someone is more than 15 minutes late and have not called, I either leave the place I was supposed to meet them, or if it's at a restaurant make sure I order. I think it's incredibly rude to be very late and will not cater to that sort of behavior. I can't exactly do that at a show - well, I suppose I could tell them that I wasn't going to stand up to allow them in and maybe next time they should consider how disruptive being that late is, but I don't. I guess I only treat my friends that way.
