Oh Yeah

I returned home last night to find power restored to my house! A whole day early! After I got back from Bob and Meghan's house last night I stopped to pick up my groceries at work and then cleaned out the freezer and fridge before loading them all back in. It was nice to finally clean up all the spilled wine in the bottom of the freezer from over a year ago. I had read this great tip about using leftover wine for cooking. You just put it in an ice cube tray and then when it's frozen, put it in a ziploc bag and use in recipes. What Martha Stewart didn't tell me (I shake my fist at you Martha) was that if you don't use it in the next couple months, the water will start to evaporate and since alcohol doesn't freeze and ziploc bags are not really meant for fluid.... A big mess results. Unfortunately I'm also incredibly lazy and did not feel like dealing with it, so it remained in the bottom of the freezer until last night. Now I have a nice clean freezer. It's lovely.
