Whew

Nicole and I finally found it - stretch denim in an acceptable shade of blue. She wanted something with patterns on it, but we couldn't find anything she liked that I would allow and so we compromized. Her favorite fabric was a bit too 'ho for me. I think if that girl were allowed to wear skin tight dance fabric everyday she would. She tried to convince me her parents would allow it, but I'm no fool. Even if they did, I still say no, too 'ho. I'm mean that way. We made it out of there with enough time for her to play outside before bedtime and for me to dig in the dirt until it got too dark.

I finished the edging and planted carrots. Brian was outside planting his garden as well so we were chatting most of the evening. He told me I needed my own compost because I used it before he was ready and I could have half of what was left. Ummm....there was a very small pile of compost left and I haven't composted at all. Compost I had contributed to all winter and I get half of a small pile?! I stewed for a few minutes and then said something like "Can I use what's left since I haven't used any compost yet?" He was surprised and said that he had turned the pile and came out one day and the top part was missing. Someone stole our compost. Who does that? Wierdos.

My coworker laughed when I told her the story and said "You know he used it." I don't think so. Brian is the sort to just tell you that it's his if he really thought it was.

The benefit is....I have my own compost pile. I was mostly excited about that. Now I can try out all the stuff I have read about composting to make it awesome. Something good always comes out of something bad. Plus, now Brian knows I'm not a compost stealer and I told him I was nice and did not do mean things on purpose because karma has a way of coming back around. Sheesh. That man is so paranoid that everyone is out to get him. At least the compost stealer is using compost and not fertilizer in their garden. I'm going to pretend that's what happened and not for other nefarious (LOVE that word) purposes I couldn't begin to understand.
