When Covers Go Wrong

Today is iTunes day and I was looking for the remake of Ring of Fire that my friend Katrina used to play all the time in high school. I found it, but I also discovered that Def Leppard and Olivia Newton-John did covers of the same song. Obviously I had to listen to the sample. So very, very bad. At least Olivia Newton-John was bad in a funny way. i had thought it was Depeche Mode, but in fact it was Social Distortion that I remembered. I maybe like them. I had to also buy "The Story of My Life" which brought back memories of Katrina yelling that song while driving her brown chevette. She had good taste in music even though getting her to return something she borrowed was near to impossible.
