Why is it that the days before a four-day weekend stretch seem like they are going to last for seven years and then after the fact they feel like they lasted one hour? I want to go back on vacation (imagine this in a high-pitched whiny voice)! Even the dog got used to waking up at 7 am. It took her 6 minutes to realize that the radio had gone on and to wake me up this morning. Normally it is instantaneous.
Good things:
Made a great turkey dinner for four on Thursday. Chris brought the best sweet potato spoon bread. I could have eaten it with a spoon. Oh wait, I did eat it with a spoon. I ate a lot of it with a spoon.
Went to see Mystic River with Danielle. I enjoyed the movie, though there were parts of it where I went "How does this fit with the movie?"
Gave my dad the digital camera that Damon and I got him for his birthday and Christmas. He LOVED it! He took lots of photos and a couple of movies. One of the movies was of my dog's butt. I'm not sure why he insisted on keeping it.
Set up my mom's computer on her computer desk and rearranged the room to get everything to fit. She will be surprised when she returns from Wisconsin!
Played Trivial Pursuit on Saturday night while drinking whisky sours. Yay! I love that game.
Took Lily for a walk on Sunday with her doggy shoes on. In the beginning she was trying to walk on any foot that did not have the booties on, unfortunately they all did so it was a very amusing picture.
Finally fixed some of my clothes that had holes in them. I am a seamstress that hates altering and will walk around without buttons or with holes because I am so lazy.
Not as good things:
Discovered that someone carved the name John Phillip Sousa into my sewing table during a party I recently hosted. While I had planned on refinishing the sewing table eventually, I think it just moved up on my priority list or I need to make a fabric item that covers the table. I was seriously bummed!
I had to give my dad his camera. I had the most fun playing with it for the past couple weeks. I need to purchase a digital camera.
Awww.... When do I get another four-day weekend?
