Ok, I FINALLY feel like I can summarize the weekend now that my big deliverable is done at work.
A lot of really great things happened this weekend and I just wanted to wait until I was in a better frame of mind to discuss them.
First: My friend, Kristin threw the best surprise party for her husband's 30th. He knew something was up, but he did not know the extent of it. His dad, brother and cousin flew out to surprise him and KG gave him a body cast of her pregnant self that I got to help her with. It was killing me to not discuss it on my blog, but Footy reads the blog and I could not let the surprise slip. Man, was it hard to keep it to myself. I gave him a great book called: "The Gas We Pass." It was very informative and made me laugh out loud.
Second: I got to hang out with Charlie on Saturday night. I worked with her at MPR and she is the nicest person! We spent 3 hours catching up and eating great food at Cafe Latte. She told me to say hello to Wendy who I was seeing the next morning for brunch, but I forgot to mention it to her because:
Third: Wendy and David told us they are having a baby! We met for brunch at the French Meadow Bakery and during breakfast David said: "We had an interesting Friday night with Wendy's parents." To which I replied: "Why is that?" To which he replied: "Because we had to tell them that they are going to be grandparents." For a moment Meghan and I just stared at them and then there were hugs, shushing of the other people around the table to tell them the news and a little bit of crying (Megs and I are so sappy) all around the table. David even had a laminated picture of the 10 week old fetus in his wallet. Awww.... I love that my friends are having babies! I just wish Wendy and David lived in Minneapolis so I could see them all the time.
So that was last weekend. I'm curious if anything as eventful will occur this weekend.
